TBI Scholarships Program
While both Tau Beta Iota Fraternity and the TBI Alumni Association function primarily as social organizations; our Fraternities affiliation since 1926 with Fairmont State University and now Pierpont Community & Technical College underscores the primary goal of our individual members, that is to further their education.
With this objective in
mind, multiple scholarships have been established by the TBI Alumni
Association, individual alumni of the fraternity, and by other persons in honor
of or as a memorial to various Brothers of this fraternity. While the criteria of these
scholarships may vary, the intention of each is to assist individuals in
achieving their educational goals.
The TBI Alumni Association administers two scholarships; one is an independent cash award for members of the Active Chapter of the Fraternity. The other is endowed through the Fairmont State Foundation and available to members of TBI and their immediate families.
The scholarships administered by the TBI Alumni Association are described below; following the description of each there is a link to their respective application forms.
TBI ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
Application deadline February 1st
History and Background
The TBI Alumni Association Scholarship was established in 1996 by TBI Alumni Association with the intention that a scholarship be available to the Active Chapter of TBI Fraternity.
This scholarship was created for the purpose of recognizing deserving Brother TBI’s for: academic performance, personal & professional goals, and dedication to the values of Tau Beta Iota Fraternity. Additionally, the award is given to assist with offsetting the financial burdens of college life.
The TBI Alumni Association Scholarship is given as individual cash awards of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) each. The awards are given directly from the TBI Alumni Association to the recipient. Funding for the award is derived from the assets of the TBI Alumni Association, an IRS Registered 501(g)(3) Fraternal Association; with a membership composed exclusively of current and former members of Tau Beta Iota Fraternity.

Other TBI Member Named Scholarships
There are multiple scholarships at Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College named after Brothers of TBI Fraternity that are currently available for awarding.
While TBI Fraternity and TBI Alumni Association have no involvement in the administration or awarding of the following scholarships, it is the opinion of our organization that we should promote those scholarships which are named after members of our brotherhood.
If you wish to donate to a scholarship endowed with the Fairmont State Foundation, we encourage you to support one of those listed below. Please contact the Fairmont State Foundation at (304) 367-4009 to make your contribution.
